(NSI News Source Info) TORONTO, Canada - June 26, 2010: DTN News reports, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar will add a hint of glamour to the G-20 Summit being held in Toronto, Canada. The actor will be the guest of honour at an event, where the Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper will meet Indian PM Manmohan Singh today.Today is a big day for Akshay Kumar. The Indian Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, who landed in Toronto on Saturday for the G-20 Summit, will be attending a formal dinner at 8 pm at Toronto's Westin Harbour Cafe Hotel with the Canadian Prime Minister, Stephen Harper.
"Mr Kumar was personally invited by the office of the Canadian Prime Minister," says spokesperson Pauline from Toronto. She refuses to divulge more details about the event "till a formal announcement from the PMO is made", but says that the actor will be making a speech to introduce the heads of state.
The event is being held at the Presidential House, where Akshay will also host the proceedings on four issues that will be addressed, 'Clean energy, India-Canada bilateral trade and economy strategy issues, and the way forward'.
Incidentally, the actor has been holidaying in Canada with his wife Twinkle and son Aarav since he went there to shoot for Anees Bazmee's Thank You, and was more than glad to accept the Canadian PM's invite. Early this year, Harper had asked Akshay to be the torchbearer for the 2010 winter Olympics. A source close to the actor says, "When Harper spoke to Akshay about his involvement in the Olympics, he immediately agreed, and they were very happy with his participation. So he was an obvious choice this time."
While Akshay was unavailable for comment, the source adds, "Akshay is very happy and considers this invite very prestigious."
