(NSI News Source Info) TORONTO, Canada - March 9, 2012: U.S. Department of Defense, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Public Affairs) Contracts issued  March 9, 2012 are undermentioned;

CONTRACTS
U.S. TRANSPORTATION COMMAND
            U.S. Transportation Command is modifying contracts with Maersk Line, Ltd., Norfolk, Va. (face value of $99,000,000; modification to modification to HTC711-09-D-0040); American President Lines, Ltd., Inc., Scottsdale, Ariz. (face value of $74,000,000; modification to HTC711-09-D-0028); Farrell Lines, Inc., Norfolk, Va. (face value of $22,000,000; modification to modification to HTC711-09-D-0034); American Roll-on, American Roll-off Carrier, L.L.C., Park Ridge, N.J. (face value of $20,000,000; modification to modification to HTC711-09-D-0029); Liberty Global Logistics, L.L.C., Lake Success, N.Y. (face value of $14,000,000; modification to modification to HTC711-09-D-0039); and Hapag-Lloyd USA, L.L.C., Tampa, Fla. (face value of $13,000,000; modification to modification to HTC711-09- D-0036).  These modifications will extend the period of performance under the Universal Services Contract-6 Program for an additional 45 days, July 1, 2012, to Aug. 14, 2012.  These contracts provide ocean and intermodal distribution services worldwide.  Funds are only obligated upon cargo bookings, and the amounts above are only an estimate to cover the 45-day extension, as needed.  U.S. Transportation Command, Directorate of Acquisition, Scott Air Force Base, Ill., is the contracting activity.

NAVY
            The Boeing Co., St. Louis, Mo., is being awarded $30,899,277 for firm-fixed-price delivery order 0008 under a previously awarded performance-based logistics contract (N00383-07-D-001J) for the repair of various parts supporting the AV-8 aircraft.  Work will be performed in St. Louis, Mo., and is expected to be completed by June 6, 2014.  The applicable 2012 Navy Working Capital Funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This contract was not competitively procured.  The NAVSSUP Weapon Systems Support, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity.

            Lockheed Martin Corp., Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co., Fort Worth, Texas, is being awarded a $24,138,848 modification to a previously awarded cost-reimbursement contract (N00019-02-C-3002) for the development of a data farm for the Joint Strike Fighter U.S. Reprogramming Laboratory to be located at Eglin Air Force Base.  The data farm will interface with lab’s prime mission equipment and is used to store software and data from the F-35 mission data testing.  The ability to store and retrieve data is critical for mission data production which is vital to program execution. Work will be performed at Fort Worth, Texas (95 percent), and Orlando, Fla. (5 percent), and is expected to be completed in November 2014.  Contract funds are not being obligated at time of award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

            IAP Worldwide Services, Inc., Cape Canaveral, Fla., is being awarded a $10,324,398 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for utilities base operations support services at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay.  The utilities base operations support services are for facility investment, utilities and other (electrical, wastewater, and water).  Contract funds in the amount of $5,946,115 will be obligated at time of award.  This contract contains four option periods, which, if exercised, will bring the maximum dollar value of the contract to $29,473,586.  Work will be performed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and is expected to be completed by June 2013.  Contract funds in the amount $547,255 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This contract was competitively procured via the Navy Electronic Commerce Online website, with two proposals received.  The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southeast, Jacksonville, Fla., is the contracting activity (N69450-12-D-7580).

DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY
            Tyco Fire Products, L.P., Marinette, Wis., was issued a modification exercising the third option year on contract SPM8EH-08-D-0251/P00007.  The award is a fixed-price with economic price adjustment contract with a maximum $24,310,822 for the procurement of aqueous film forming foam fire extinguishing liquid.  There are no other locations of performance.  Using services are Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps.  There were three responses to the Web solicitation.  Type of appropriation is fiscal 2012 Defense Working Capital Funds.  The date of performance completion is April 9, 2013.  The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity.

            Imperial Sales Co.*, Watsonville, Calif., was issued a modification exercising the first option year on contract SPM3S1-11-D-Z188/P00001.  The award is a fixed-price with economic price adjustment contract with a maximum $8,121,565 for unitized group ration components.  There are no other locations of performance.  Using services are Marine Corps and Army.  There were two responses to the Web solicitation.  Type of appropriation is fiscal 2012 Defense Working Capital Funds.  The date of performance completion is March 10, 2013.  The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity.

AIR FORCE
            The Boeing Co., Seal, Beach, Calif., is being awarded a $14,462,422, cost-plus-award-fee contract modification to the existing Boeing IFF contract for the Global Position System.  This contract action will provide fiscal 2012 funding for two space vehicle contract line item numbers, to include launch operations support and on-orbit operations support.  The location of the performance is Seal Beach, Calif.  Work is expected to be completed Dec. 31, 2012.  Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles Air Force Base, El Segundo, Calif., is the contracting activity (F04701-96-C-0025; P00842).
