Defense News: BETHESDA, Md., April 12th, 2010 -- Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] will host its first virtual supplier conference today, with approximately 8,000 representatives from suppliers to Lockheed Martin participating via live Webcast. The virtual conference will replace a smaller, in-person conference and increase affordability, decrease travel and allow more businesses to participate.

“This virtual conference allows Lockheed Martin to talk directly with 8,000 of our largest suppliers about the company’s outlook, our commitment to ethics and business conduct, cyber-security and supply chain initiatives like green procurement,” said Reese Delorey, vice president of procurement for Lockheed Martin. “The corporation works with more than 80,000 suppliers and small businesses each year that help us provide agile, cost-effective global security solutions to our customers.”
