Defense News ~ HERNDON, Va.--January 26, 2010, (BUSINESS WIRE)--LGS, a subsidiary of Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE:ALU and Euronext Paris) dedicated to serving the U.S. government community, announced today it was recently awarded a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) with the U.S. Army to provide communications technology in support specific operations across Southwest Asia.
The agreement is in support of Project Manager Network Service Center (PM NSC) and Project Director Defense Communication Systems - Southwest Asia (PD DCS-SWA) in its mission within Southwest Asia Theater of Operations, as well as various U.S. locations to support the DCS-SWA Command and Control Communications Center (C4) Commercialization.
LGS already has won three specific task orders under the agreement including two projects at Bagram Airfield to support communications infrastructure as well as one project that will provide a variety of equipment materials at multiple locations at airfields in Kabul and Kandahar.
