Defense News ~ TEL AVIV, ISRAEL--(Marketwire - 01/11/10) - IDO Security, Inc. (OTC.BB:IDOI - News) (www.idosecurityinc.com), developer of the innovative MagShoe(TM) "shoes-on" weapons metal detection system, announced today that the company has won a tender in China for installation of new MagShoe(TM) units.
Mr. Dani Werber, International Marketing Manager of IDO Security Ltd., stated, "We have won a tender in China to install MagShoe(TM) units in all of Xinjiang province's international and regional airports. There are 12 Airports in Xinjiang province, including Urumqi, Kashi, Yining, Korla, Aksu, Hetian, Altay, Kuche, Tacheng, Narati and Qiemo, all are to be equipped with the MagShoe system."
Mr. Werber further stated, "Out of the 12 airports, the largest installation of MagShoe(TM) units is in Urumqi International Airport -- the Central Airport of Xinjiang province and one of China's six major airports. This airport alone has connections with more than 60 large and medium cities nationwide and many cities in Central Asia, the Middle East, Russia and other countries."
"This tender was won together with our local Distributor, Hwan Technology and Trade Co. with whom we have a long and fruitful cooperation. Hwan Co. alone has already installed dozens of MagShoe(TM) units in 16 airports across the North and West of China. Taking into account more than 130 major airports, 1200 routes and more than 130 million passengers per year, the potential in China's Aviation market is enormous. There is still a lot to do in China but not only in the Aviation market. Among others, we are focusing our efforts on some of China's upcoming international events over the next two years, like the World Expo in Shanghai and the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou."
Mr. Werber concluded, "This last major tender we were awarded in the Xinjiang province, together with the recent installations in Honk Kong airport and Macau's major sport facilities, will definitely help and serve as a point of reference in all other segments as well, it is another step forward in our efforts to broaden our presence in this very large and important market."
