Woodward Announces Contract Awarded for Bombardier CSeries Aircraft Throttle Quadrant Assembly

FORT COLLINS, CO--(MARKET WIRE)--Jun 16, 2009 -- Woodward Governor Company (NasdaqGS:WGOV - News) today announced that Bombardier awarded Woodward MPC the contract to supply the TQA (Throttle Quadrant Assembly) for the CSeries* family of aircraft. The CSeries aircraft family includes the single-aisle, 130-passenger CS300* and 110-passenger CS100* jets. Both are expected to enter into service in 2013.
Woodward MPC, part of the Airframe Systems business segment for Woodward, manufactures the NGA (Next Generation Autothrottle), the TQA for the Global Express and Global Vision Programs. This longstanding heritage offers Bombardier lower program development risks. The NGA for the CSeries aircraft is lighter weight, lower cost, and has a maximum transportability across all twin-engine platforms. The CSeries is the fourth aircraft program to select Woodward MPC's NGA.
"Woodward MPC is excited to be a part of the team dedicated to helping Bombardier offer its customers an aircraft that provides low operating costs, 20 percent fuel burn advantage, outstanding operational flexibility, widebody comfort, and an exceptional environmental scorecard," says Craig Scott, Vice President and General Manager, Cockpit Controls and Actuation Systems.
